We are looking for an Electoral Services Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the planning and conduct of all polls held in Basildon Borough Council. Managing a small team, you will lead on all matters relating to electoral services, including delivering the annual canvass, ensuring that all statutory duties are met in accordance with legislation and other relevant guidance. You will lead on key elements of delivery with the development, implementation of modern ways of working and professional best practice.
Basildon does have hybrid working; however, during elections and canvass periods the job is predominately office based.

The candidate will preferably have:
The Certificate in Electoral Administration from the AEA Experience of working in an Electoral Services Team at a senior level delivering projects to strict legal deadlines and under pressure.
Good knowledge of electoral legislation and its application along with associated guidance.
Design and Creative Officer

We are looking for a creative and driven Design and Creative Officer who has a keen eye for detail, passion for design, video, animation, photography and copywriting.
There will be various topics that are of interest to our residents ranging from climate change campaigns, the regeneration of Basildon town centre to changes to waste and recycling collections to engaging with businesses. An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced support officer to join the Elections team.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the small Electoral Services team assisting in the compilation and updating of the electoral register including the annual electoral canvass and they will also provide administrative and clerical support in all aspects of elections and referendums held in the Basildon Borough.
