This enclosed role provides the opportunity to join a bustling, fast-paced environment within Customer Services, who has been awarded the prestigious (CSE) Customer Service Excellence standard.
This position will test your ability to provide advice and guidance of more in depth, technical and complex areas of the Council business, and you achieve this with a focus resolving customer enquiries at point of contact and thinking in terms of positive customer outcomes.
You will have a sound core problem solving skills, a level - head when under pressure, emotional intelligence, and - ideally - knowledge of any of our more complex areas of business such as Council Tax, Benefits advice, Housing Advice and Assessments, complaint handling and/or Housing Rents and/or financial processing experience. But if you don't have that don't be put off applying, we have a track record of developing talent for people who can demonstrate they meet our required competencies – through a range of experience.
After a short but in depth training programme, you will work in direct contact with customers every day with a focus on empowering them to help themselves. You will be asked to work flexibly to provide customer service across a multi-channel contact environment, across a host of service lines, so be prepared, each day will be different. The successful candidate will operate predominantly as telephony operatives but may be expected to work across any of our customer access channels across any of the council's lines of service, as suits customer demand.

Sempra Homes was established by Basildon Council to develop good quality, new homes across the borough. Sempra has an ambitious new homes programme and is seeking delivery support with its client liaison and income collection functions.
If you are a highly motivated individual with a background in client liaison and income collection in the housing sector and are interested in joining the Sempra team we are currently recruiting to the role of Client Management Officer.
Working for the Council, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Sempra Homes’ development programme, including ongoing customer liaison, reporting and resolution of repairs and defects and income collection processes for rents and service charge collection. Applicants should have an understanding and experience of the requirements for the estate management and income collection processes for housing providers.

The George Herd Centre are looking for an individual to join the Catering Team in the smooth running of all day-to-day operations of its kitchen. You will be the first point of call for customers and your primary goal is to give them an excellent customer experience by being welcoming, helpful, accurate, timely, and knowledgeable.
As a member of the team, the Catering Assistant will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of a variety of pre-cooked, frozen, microwavable meals and desserts. Members of the Activity Centre and members of the general public will be able to access the hot meals service at the George Hurd Centre which is located in Audley Way, Basildon.
