The Towngate Theatre is based in Basildon, 35 mins from central London by train and is a thriving 550-seat theatre with a 220-seat studio theatre as well as a busy café bar, and an award winning in-house pantomime.
We are looking for a welcoming and efficient Theatre Technician to work as part of the Technical team at the theatre. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and facilitating productions as well as backstage requirements for all events as directed by the Technical Manager or Deputy Technical Manager this includes the operation / maintenance of the theatre on a day to day basis including but not limited to Duty Technician, Lighting Technician / Operator / Sound Technician / Operator, Flyman, Followspot Operator, Stage Crew, Seating Calls and Stage Door cover duties
The successful candidate should have demonstrable experience of technical knowledge, facilitating and supporting of large scale productions, hires and events. The post holder should also have excellent communication skills as the role will involve liaising with external production companies and hirers, should be flexible with working hours as you will be required to work daytimes, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
